Saar Carre
Febelfin
Head of Payments and Daily Banking, Program Manager
Saar Carre is Head of Payments & Daily banking and Program Manager at Febelfin, the Belgian Financial Sector Federation. She is passionate about payment systems, new technologies and open banking. Next to ensuring the well-functioning of existing payment instruments with the members of Febelfin, she analyses existing and future regulation (Instant Payment Regulation, the Payment Services Regulation, Digital Euro,…) and she monitors the Belgian and European market for new payment trends.
Saar represents the Belgian Financial Sector in various industry bodies, e.g., the Payment Expert Group of the European Banking Federation, the Legal Support Group of the European Payment Council and the National Retail Payments Committee, chaired by the National Bank of Belgium and acts as Chairperson for the Belgian SWIFT national member group.
As a program manager she ensures the coordination and follow-up of projects in line with Febelfin's strategic vision (Financing the economy, Sustainable banking, Digital banking and Solidity of the sector and the fight against money laundering).
