Automation for Good: Automation as an enabler for ESG and Sustainability in Banks

Automation for Good: Automation as an enabler for ESG and Sustainability in Banks

Special edition, including thought leader like Chris Skinner, Author and Commentator, The Finanser and Nitin Purwar, Director Banking Industry Practice at UiPath.

EGS and sustainability are on top of every bank's strategy. To comply with the multitude of new regulations, banks must ensure the right level of data integrity and efficient reporting processes. The continuous change in regulations requires a lot of flexibility and agility.

The faster banks can implement the efforts to a greener future, the sooner they can grasp the opportunities and look further than the traditional reporting and regulations, both from a shareholder, customers and supervisor's perspective.

In this session, we will investigate how automation can help banks in realising their short and long-term commitments to EGS.

No Chatham House rules this time, the session will be shared afterwards.

About our speakers

Chris Skinner is known as one of the most influential people in technology, and known as an independent commentator on the financial markets and fintech through his blog, the Finanser.com. His latest book (sixteenth!) is called Doing Digital, and shares the lessons of doing digital transformation learned through interviews with BBVA, China Merchants Bank, DBS, ING and JPMorgan Chase. ValueWeb describes the impact of Fintech and how mobile and blockchain technologies are changing the face of finance in building an internet of value. As a result of the emerging internet of value, banks have to become digitalised, and Digital Bank provides a comprehensive review and analysis of the battle for digital banking and strategies for companies to compete. Digital Human, released in March 2018, builds on these two themes but looks at the wider picture of digitalisation, and how this is a revolution as it allows everyone from the plains of Africa to the mountains of Tibet to be included.

In his day job, he is CEO of the Finanser Ltd, a research and media firm focused upon FinTech and the future of finance. He is also Chair of Nordic Future Innovation, a Non-Executive Director of the FinTech consultancy firm 11:FS and on the advisory boards of many FinTech and financial firms. He has been voted one of the most influential people in banking by The Financial Brand (as well as one of the best blogs), a FinTech Titan (Next Bank), one of the Fintech Leaders you need to follow (City AM, Deluxe and Jax Finance), one of the Top 5 most influential people on BankInfoSecurity’s list of information security leaders, as well as one of the Top 40 most influential people in financial technology by the Wall Street Journal’s Financial News and Thomson Reuters.
